We are seeking an experienced Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join the team as a Nocturnist. Provide advanced overnight surgical care in a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center, working alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.
* Provide comprehensive overnight coverage for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
* Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
* Manage trauma and emergency general surgery patients in inpatient settings
* Support trauma surgeons with procedures and ongoing patient management
* Work autonomously while collaborating with physicians and care teams
* Document all patient care in EMR systems
* Ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws, credentialing, and privileging requirements
* Maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical performance
* Participate in mentorship, leadership development, and continuing education programs
**Qualifications (Required)**
* Trauma Surgery Experience
* Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s degree in Nursing
* Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANPCB)
* Active Colorado license (or ability to obtain)
* Eligible for DEA registration and Medicare/Medicaid provider status
* Current BLS certification
* No sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA
* Current NPDB Self-Query report (within 30 days at time of submission)
* Preferred Qualifications
* OR completion of a surgical fellowship
* Clean malpractice and licensure history
**Compensation & Benefits**
* Salary Range: $136,822 – $179,379 annually (based on experience)
* Up to $10,000 annual quality incentive bonus
* Relocation bonus up to $10,000 (for eligible candidates)
* Fully paid malpractice insurance
* CME allowance up to $3,500 annually plus 5 CME days
