1:1 School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) — Contract, Chesapeake VA, $50/hr

Adelphi is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to work one-on-one with a student in a Chesapeake, Virginia school. You’ll provide skilled nursing care in collaboration with school staff, following established clinical standards and school policies. This is a contracted, Monday–Friday position that offers a predictable schedule and a supportive environment.

What we’re looking for

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Current, active, unrestricted Virginia RN license (or multi-state compact license)
• Current BLS (CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers) certification
• At least 2 years of clinical experience, ideally in pediatrics, school nursing, emergency, or public health
• Demonstrated competence in school-based clinical skills, such as:
  • Tracheostomy care and suctioning
  • Seizure management
  • Gastrostomy (G-tube) care
  • Asthma/allergy management and oxygen therapy
  • Diabetes care
  • Catheterization and ostomy care

What you’ll do

• Deliver individualized nursing care based on the student’s needs and plan of care
• Work closely with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to coordinate services
• Follow all applicable regulations, including IDEA, HIPAA, and FERPA
• Adhere to district schedules, policies, and assigned duties, and maintain professional and ethical standards
• Complete required screenings, trainings, and documentation in a timely manner
• Notify school personnel promptly of any planned absences
• Perform other duties as assigned that support the student’s health, safety, and educational access
