Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Active Virginia LPN license (or compact license)
• Current CPR/AED (BLS) certification
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience (pediatric experience preferred)
• Demonstrated skills in medication administration, EHR documentation, and basic first aid/triage
• Willingness to learn and assist with care for students requiring tracheostomy care and suctioning, seizure management, G-tube feeding, allergy/asthma/oxygen support, diabetes care, catheterization, and ostomy management

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing support consistent with District policies and established protocols
• Document care accurately in electronic health records and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA
• Communicate and coordinate with supervising RNs, school staff, and caregivers regarding student health needs
• Maintain professional and ethical conduct while working within District schedules and operational hours
• Report absences and notify appropriate personnel as required
• Complete required District screenings, training, and other assigned duties
