Schedule: 06:00 AM–06:30 PM
Rate: Local: $932 / 36 hours

Requirements:

  • Valid, active LPN license for the state of Maine
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, basic procedures.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer and monitor medications and treatments; ensure correct dosing and documentation.
  • Manage wounds/incisions: clean, dress, monitor for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate patient records of assessments, interventions, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Initiate and manage IV therapy and monitor IV sites and fluids as permitted by scope of practice.
  • Provide catheter care (insertion if within scope, maintenance, monitoring).
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Assist with patient comfort, positioning, mobility, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol.
  • Follow infection control policies and proper PPE use.
  • Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and training.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
