We’re seeking a board-certified, fellowship-trained breast radiologist to provide locum tenens coverage in Detroit, MI. This is an outpatient clinical-only role, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., starting Aug 3, 2026 and continuing on an ongoing basis. The agency covers travel, lodging, and malpractice.

What you’ll be doing

• Read screening and diagnostic mammograms and perform breast ultrasound and MRI.
• Perform image-guided procedures (biopsies, localizations, aspirations).
• Manage same-day diagnostic workups and communicate results with patients directly.
• Maintain proficiency with BI-RADS and MQSA standards.
• Work closely with technologists, RNs, MAs, surgeons, and oncology teams in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Clinical volume and mix

• Average daily volume: 40–50 patients.
• Screening mammography: ~45–55% (about 30–40 patients).
• Diagnostic mammography: ~25–35%.
• Procedures: ~15–25%.

Facility and support

• EMR: Cerner. PACS migration to Sectra planned for July.
• Support staff: 2 RNs, 1 MA, and 2 office staff.
• Hospital: Level II trauma, ~100 beds.
• Hospital privileges required.

Qualifications

• Board certified (BC) in Radiology.
• Fellowship in breast imaging required.
• Michigan medical license.
• BLS certification.
