Summary:
Provide comprehensive, patient-centered dental care in a residential care setting serving individuals with specialized needs. Maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while working independently and within an interdisciplinary team.
Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted license to practice dentistry from the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
- Current, unrestricted DEA registration
- Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Current AHA BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency with computers and electronic health records (EHR)
- Completion of all required pre-employment training
- Successful drug screen and background checks
- Compliance with immunization and facility health requirements
- Ability to work in a structured, compliance-driven healthcare environment and to provide care in a residential setting
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive dental exams, diagnostics, and treatment planning
- Deliver preventive, restorative, and periodontal care (cleanings, scaling, extractions, prosthetics)
- Perform and interpret dental radiographs
- Provide pre- and post-procedural care, including minor surgical interventions as required
- Develop and document individualized treatment plans; document justification for complex or irreversible procedures
- Accurately maintain and update electronic dental and medical records per regulatory standards
- Adhere to infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols
- Maintain and manage dental equipment and instruments
- Collaborate with clinical leadership and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Supervise and guide dental support staff as applicable
- Communicate care plans and procedures clearly to staff and stakeholders
- Respond to urgent or emergent dental needs as required
- Maintain professionalism and comply with all facility policies and regulatory requirements
