We’re seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a Rochester, NH team on a 9-week contract starting ASAP. This is a local, non-travel assignment with a PM shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) and a guaranteed 40-hour week. Pay is $1,440 per 40 hours.

What we need from you

  • Current, active LPN license for the state of New Hampshire
  • BLS certification

What you’ll do

  • Provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician guidance, including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments—physical exams, medication reviews, and histories—to help create individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and according to protocols.
  • Clean, dress, and manage wounds and incisions while watching for signs of infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations) and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records, noting treatments given and responses to care.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and self-care strategies to support recovery and wellness.
  • Start, monitor, and manage IV medications and fluids, ensuring IV lines are functioning safely.
  • Provide catheter care, including insertion, routine maintenance, and monitoring for issues.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing as needed.
  • Work closely with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Assist with patient comfort and safety—positioning, mobility support, and pain management.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, following protocols and providing basic life support when needed.
  • Follow strict infection-control practices, including hand hygiene and proper use of PPE.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely and according to regulations.
  • Promote preventive care, such as vaccinations and screenings, and support general health assessments.
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and needs, helping them get appropriate care and resources.
  • When assigned, supervise CNAs or other unlicensed assistive personnel to ensure quality care.
  • Participate in ongoing education to stay current with nursing best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
