Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred; may be required by some facilities.
• Proficient in sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and OR procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to stand for extended periods and assist with physical tasks during procedures.

Core responsibilities:

• Set up operating room: gather instruments, supplies, and equipment; verify functionality.
• Maintain and monitor sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Pass instruments, sponges, sutures, and supplies to the surgical team as needed.
• Anticipate surgeon’s needs and respond promptly during procedures.
• Handle, clean, and store surgical instruments according to policy.
• Document procedures and maintain accurate surgical records.
