Travel RN House Supervisor — Arcata, CA (36-hr Contract)

Join a friendly team in Arcata, CA as a Registered Nurse filling a House Supervisor role on a contract/travel basis. This position starts ASAP, works a 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. shift, and pays $2,182 for a 36-hour assignment.

What we’re looking for

• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• 2–3 years minimum acute care experience; supervisory or charge nurse experience is strongly preferred.
• BLS and ACLS required (facility may require additional certifications).
• Strong clinical assessment skills, clear communication, and confident leadership.
• Ability to make quick decisions, manage crises, and juggle multiple priorities.
• Experience with patient flow and hospital operations is a plus.

What you’ll do

• Provide leadership and clinical oversight for nursing staff across units during your shift.
• Coordinate patient flow—manage admissions, transfers, and discharges to keep beds and staffing balanced.
• Act as the administrator-on-duty for operational issues, staff concerns, and patient/family needs.
• Respond to emergencies, rapid responses, and critical events—offer direction and hands-on support as needed.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
• Assess staffing needs in real time and reassign personnel to maintain safe patient ratios.
• Support clinical teams with problem-solving, conflict resolution, and escalation when necessary.
• Document incidents, staffing decisions, and operational concerns, and communicate key issues to leadership.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and efficient environment for both staff and patients.
