Schedule: Tue–Thu, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM | Rate: Local $1,116 / 36 hours
Overview
Join a clinical team in Santa Fe as a Licensed Practical Nurse for a 15-week contract providing direct patient care across evening and overnight shifts. This role requires hands-on nursing skills, strong communication, and teamwork to support patient safety and positive outcomes.
Required Credentials
- Active LPN license in the appropriate state
- BLS certification
Core Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and vital-sign monitoring.
- Perform focused patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
- Safely administer medications and treatments, document dosing and responses, and follow established protocols.
- Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and incisions for signs of infection or complications.
- Insert, maintain, and monitor IV lines and urinary catheters per facility policy.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory analysis and document results appropriately.
- Accurately record patient condition changes, treatments provided, and medication administration in the medical record.
- Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
- Promote patient comfort and safety through mobility assistance, positioning, pain management, and infection-control practices (PPE, hand hygiene).
- Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care; may supervise CNAs/UAPs when assigned.
- Maintain compliance with medication/storage/disposal regulations and pursue ongoing professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
