We’re seeking a gynecologic oncologist for locum tenens coverage in York, Pennsylvania. This role supports a Level I trauma hospital and affiliated clinic/ASC, providing both clinical care and after-hours call (APPs take first call). Coverage runs July 2026 through January 2027, with one week per month and an extended block from September 19 – October 9.
Schedule & Coverage
- Clinical shifts: Day OR and office, typically 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Call: After-hours only; APPs take first call.
- Coverage pattern: One week per month; includes the three-week coverage noted above.
Clinical Scope & Volume
- Adult patients (18+); gynecologic oncology case mix.
- Clinic volume: ~15–20 patients/day; OR cases as needed.
- Admissions, rounding, and phone consults are included.
- Procedures: gynecologic oncology surgeries, office-based gynecologic oncology care, and other surgical oncology procedures as required.
Facility & Support
- Trauma Level I hospital using Epic EMR.
- On-site support: 2 medical assistants, 3 APPs, and 1 surgeon; specialty backup available.
- Reason for coverage: supplemental support.
Privileges, Credentialing & Compliance
- Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available for candidates with a clean file.
- Expedited credentialing is available.
- DEA required.
Qualifications
- PA medical license or participation in IMLC.
- Board certified in gynecologic oncology.
- Relevant specialty experience required; academic and surgical setting experience preferred.
Compensation & Logistics
- Rate: TBD.
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive gynecologic oncology care in both OR and outpatient settings.
- Manage inpatient and outpatient cases, perform procedures, and participate in after-hours call coverage.
- Collaborate closely with APPs, residents, and the surgical team.
