Join the outpatient team at Altru Cancer Center in Grand Forks, ND, as a locum tenens Radiation Oncology physician. This role is clinical-only, Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with no call responsibilities. Coverage dates begin May 18 and 25; June 1, 15, 22, and 28; and ongoing starting in August (note: unavailable Sept 14–25). We’re looking for someone who can commit to about two weeks per month on a consistent basis.
What you’ll see and do
- Manage a daily clinic volume of roughly 18–24 radiation oncology patients.
- Provide comprehensive outpatient radiation oncology care: evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and oversee treatment delivery.
- Deliver external beam radiation therapy, perform image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), and supervise treatment planning and execution.
- Prefer candidates with experience on Tomotherapy/Radixact platforms.
Team, tools, and facility
- Primary worksite: Altru Cancer Center.
- EMR: Epic (note: system transition expected in Sept 2026).
- Treatment platforms: current Accuray Tomotherapy & Radixact; transitioning to a Varian LINAC (Aria/Mosaic transition slated for Sept 2026).
- Support staff includes 2 physicists, 2 dosimetrists, 4 radiation therapists, 1 radiation oncology APP, 1 nurse, and 1 patient access specialist.
Requirements and compliance
- Board certification in Radiation Oncology required.
- North Dakota medical license required (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact accepted if DEA is transferable).
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-training experience.

- Reason for coverage: physician vacation and leave of absence.
- No inpatient or call coverage expected.
