Service Setting: Hospital (GI / Endoscopy Lab)
Coverage Period: Begins August 17, 2026 — 6 months (ongoing)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Patient Population and Clinical Scope
- Adults and geriatric patients
- Inpatient admissions and rounding included
- Case mix: general GI/endoscopy, ERCP, EUS
- Patient volume/census: TBD
Facility and Support
- Trauma level: II–IV
- EMR: Epic
- Endoscopy equipment available
- Support staff: APPs and hospital staff; APP specialty backup available
- Reason for coverage: ongoing until permanent hire
Privileges, Credentialing, and Compliance
- Hospital privileges required
- Credentialing timeline: 60–90 days
Compensation and Logistics
- Rate: TBD
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice: covered
Required Procedures and Experience
- Procedures: ERCP, EUS, general GI endoscopy
- Experience: ERCP and EUS experience required
- Licensure: Active NC license or IMLC accepted
- Board: Board certified in Gastroenterology
- DEA: Required
- Certifications: TBD
- Epic experience: preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hospital-based GI/endoscopy coverage
- Perform ERCP, EUS, and general endoscopic procedures
- Manage inpatient GI consults and cases; perform rounding
- Collaborate with APPs and hospital staff
- Maintain accurate documentation and deliver quality patient care
