Locum Tenens Family Medicine Physician — Outpatient Clinic, Columbus MT (3 Shifts/Wk, Ongoing)

Join a small, community-focused outpatient practice in Columbus, Montana, providing family medicine care for patients of all ages. This locum tenens role starts July 1, 2026 and is open ongoing while the site conducts a long-term permanent search. You’ll work three 8:00 am–5:00 pm shifts per week and typically see about 20 patients per day. Travel, lodging, and malpractice are covered by the agency.

What you’ll do

• Provide outpatient clinical care across the lifespan: toddlers through adolescents and general adult outpatient care.
• Manage a daily patient panel averaging 20 patients per shift.
• Document and manage care using Cerner EMR.
• Collaborate with a small support team (1 RN, 1 MA, and 1 office staff).
• Maintain a flexible schedule of three shifts per week.

Preferred additional skills (not required)

• Well-woman and prenatal care, including ultrasounds.
• Newborn and infant care (birth–30 days and 30 days–1 year) and newborn resuscitation.
• General inpatient experience.

Requirements

• Board certified or eligible in Family Medicine.
• Licensed in Montana or holding an IMLC (compact) license.
• BLS and PALS required.
• Fellowship training preferred but not required.
