We’re seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join a team in Albuquerque, NM on a 14-week contract beginning ASAP. This role follows an 08:00 AM – 4:30 PM schedule and offers competitive pay (Travel: $1,505/35-hours; Local: $1,484/35-hours).
What you’ll bring
- A valid, active Occupational Therapy Assistant state license.
What you’ll be doing
- Support the Occupational Therapist in evaluating patients to uncover physical and functional limitations.
- Help develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the OT, tailored to each patient’s goals and needs.
- Implement therapeutic activities and interventions that improve motor skills, mobility, and day-to-day independence.
- Teach patients how to use assistive devices and adaptive equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of treatments, progress, and any changes in condition.
- Train and guide patients and their families on at-home exercises to support recovery outside the clinic.
- Communicate regularly with the OT and the rest of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
- Follow safety and infection control procedures to keep the therapy environment safe.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement as patients work toward their therapeutic goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
