Travel LPN/LVN - Long Term Care (Scarborough, ME) 9-Week Nights Contract

We’re looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a team in Scarborough, ME on a 9-week contract starting ASAP. This is a travel assignment with an evening/night shift (06:45 PM–07:15 AM). Compensation is Travel: $1,436/36-hours.

What you’ll need

• Active, valid LPN license for the state of practice
• BLS certification

What you’ll do
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians. Typical duties include:

• Delivering direct patient care such as medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring
• Conducting patient assessments (physical exams, med history, medication review) and contributing to individualized care plans
• Administering medications and treatments accurately and following protocols
• Assessing, cleaning, dressing, and monitoring wounds and surgical sites for infection or complications
• Regularly checking and documenting vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations)
• Maintaining clear, accurate patient records of condition changes, treatments, and meds
• Teaching patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care to support recovery and wellness
• Administering and monitoring IV medications and fluids, including proper line care
• Caring for patients with urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, monitoring)
• Collecting samples (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing
• Working closely with the care team—RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—to coordinate care
• Addressing patient comfort and safety (positioning, mobility assistance, pain management)
• Responding quickly in emergencies and providing basic life support when needed
• Following strict infection control practices and using PPE appropriately
• Handling, storing, and disposing of medications and supplies safely and according to guidelines
• Promoting preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and supporting health assessments
• Advocating for patients’ needs and rights within the care team and facility
• Occasionally supervising CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned
• Participating in ongoing education to stay current with nursing best practices
• Performing other duties as assigned by management
