Join a high-acuity, fast-paced Emergency Department at Franciscan Health Lafayette East, a Level III Trauma Center managing approximately 50,000 annual visits. This 33-bed ED, equipped with three dedicated trauma bays, provides an ideal environment for Nurse Practitioners to practice at the top of their license alongside experienced emergency physicians and advanced practice clinicians.

You will work within a collaborative, well-supported care model that includes strong physician coverage, dedicated APC staffing, and scribe support—allowing you to focus on delivering efficient, high-quality patient care.

Emergency Department Highlights

• ~50,000 annual ED visits
• Level III Trauma Center
• 33-bed Emergency Department with 3 trauma bays
• 37 hours/day physician coverage
• 36 hours/day NP/PA coverage

• Specialty care rooms (ENT, Orthopedics, GYN, etc.)
• Advanced trauma capabilities with 13 cardiac-monitor beds

Role & Responsibilities

• Perform medical screening exams, evaluations, and management of ED patients
• Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of conditions, from low acuity to higher complexity (within scope of practice)
• Collaborate closely with supervising physicians on high-acuity or complex cases
• Perform procedures consistent with Emergency Medicine NP scope of practice
• Utilize EMR and scribe resources to enhance workflow efficiency
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation and meet quality and compliance standards
