Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — 24hr Shifts, Epic, Trauma & Critical Care Support (Carlisle, PA)

We’re seeking an Emergency Medicine locum tenens physician to join a hospital team in Carlisle, PA beginning July 2026 with ongoing coverage. Shifts are 24 hours (7 a.m. to 7 a.m.), covering a 10-bed ED that typically sees 25–30 patients per day and accepts admissions. The department also has 10 inpatient beds.

You’ll care for patients of all ages and manage a typical emergency medicine case mix, including critical care and trauma interventions as needed. The facility uses Epic for documentation and offers CT and other imaging, plus a full complement of support staff—physicians, nurses, techs, and APPs.

Temporary hospital privileges are available (a clean file is required); full hospital privileges are required as well. Expect credentialing to take about 90 days. Malpractice coverage, travel, lodging, and final rate are to be determined.

Minimum qualifications:

• Active PA license or participation in the IMLC
• DEA registration
• BC/BE in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine (ABEM preferred)
• At least 1 year of clinical experience

Core responsibilities:

• Provide full ED coverage during assigned shifts
• Evaluate and treat patients across the lifespan
• Perform emergency and critical care procedures as needed
• Work collaboratively with ED staff and inpatient teams
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in Epic
