Job Description

Brown University Health seeks a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Ophthalmologist to join its established, collaborative Ophthalmology department in Providence, RI. This position offers a balanced clinical and academic practice with access to modern surgical facilities and a strong referral network.

Primary responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient and surgical ophthalmology care across general and specialty services.
  • Participate in clinical operations at two fully equipped surgical centers (Providence, RI and Attleboro, MA).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Team and facilities

  • Join 12 ophthalmology providers delivering a mix of primary and specialty eye care.
  • Access to modern operating rooms and ambulatory surgical centers in Providence and Attleboro.

Academic opportunities

  • Active involvement in a residency program with Brown-affiliated medical students.
  • Opportunities to teach and mentor physician assistant students during clinical rotations.
  • Emphasis on teaching, mentorship, and academic engagement.

Compensation and benefits

  • Base salary: $225,000–$325,000 plus RVU-based productivity incentives.
  • Three-year employment agreement.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.
  • Eligible for or hold Rhode Island medical license (required).
