Cardiology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Rutland/Killington, VT

Join a cardiovascular team in Rutland County (Killington/Rutland, VT) providing outpatient and occasional inpatient care for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.

Primary responsibilities

• Perform cardiovascular histories and physical exams
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests (ECG, echo, labs, etc.)
• Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions and adjust therapy per evidence-based guidelines
• Prescribe medications and maintain DEA registration as required
• Coordinate care with cardiologists, primary care providers, and ancillary services
• Educate patients and families on disease management and prevention
• Complete accurate, timely EHR documentation
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical best-practice initiatives
• Provide outpatient care and occasional inpatient coverage as needed

Minimum qualifications

• For NP applicants: Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited NP program and national board certification (e.g., ANCC, AANP)
• For PA applicants: Graduate of an ARC-PA–accredited PA program and NCCPA certification
• Active Vermont NP (APRN) or PA license
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience as an NP or PA; cardiology, internal medicine, or related experience strongly preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification
• DEA registration if applicable
