Job Description
Join a cardiovascular team in Rutland County (Killington/Rutland, VT) providing outpatient and occasional inpatient care for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.

Primary responsibilities
- Perform cardiovascular histories and physical exams
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests (ECG, echo, labs, etc.)
- Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions and adjust therapy per evidence-based guidelines
- Prescribe medications and maintain DEA registration as required
- Coordinate care with cardiologists, primary care providers, and ancillary services
- Educate patients and families on disease management and prevention
- Complete accurate, timely EHR documentation
- Participate in quality improvement and clinical best-practice initiatives
- Provide outpatient care and occasional inpatient coverage as needed
Minimum qualifications
- For NP applicants: Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited NP program and national board certification (e.g., ANCC, AANP)
- For PA applicants: Graduate of an ARC-PA–accredited PA program and NCCPA certification
- Active Vermont NP (APRN) or PA license
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience as an NP or PA; cardiology, internal medicine, or related experience strongly preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification
- DEA registration if applicable
Work environment
- Community-focused practice with collaboration among cardiologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Mix of outpatient clinic responsibilities and occasional hospital-based coverage
