Locum Tenens Cardiac Anesthesiologist – Miami, FL (Hospital-Based; CABG/TAVR/MitraClip Experience)

Join a busy Miami healthcare team providing locum coverage across multiple surgical service lines. You’ll work in a high-volume, hospital-based setting with a diverse case mix, predictable scheduling, and the chance to collaborate closely with surgeons, CRNAs, and perioperative staff.

Schedule and Expectations

• Monday–Friday schedule with a rotating weekend commitment
• Shift options: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, or 7:00 AM–7:00 PM (shifts aligned with leaving order)
• Minimum 20 shifts per month
• Call and weekend coverage required
• Multi-site coverage with consistent workflows and case types

Typical Case Mix

• Majority: Orthopedics, General Surgery, OB/GYN
• Additional: Urology, GI/Endoscopy, Cath Lab/CVL, ENT, Spine procedures

Required Cardiac Experience

• CABG, valve procedures, TAVR, MitraClip, LAA ligation, and electrophysiology (EP) cases

Core Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for a wide range of surgical procedures
• Perform pre-operative assessments and manage post-anesthesia care
• Monitor patient status and maintain safety and comfort throughout procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs, and perioperative teams
• Accurately document all patient care in the EMR

Facility and Systems

• EMR: Medaxion
• Multi-site coverage with consistent case types and workflows

Qualifications

• Board certified in Anesthesiology
• Active Florida medical license and DEA certification
• ACLS and BLS certification
• Demonstrated experience in cardiac anesthesia cases
