Locums Emergency Medicine Physician — Ongoing 12-hr Shifts, Strong APP Support in Sebring, FL

Join a busy, community emergency department in Sebring, Florida, as a locum Emergency Medicine physician. This role delivers a balanced schedule, strong APP support, and the opportunity to provide compassionate, patient-focused care in a friendly community setting.

Shift and Site Highlights

• Facility: Community hospital Emergency Department
• Annual volume: ~18,000 visits
• ED size: 13 beds
• Coverage model: single-physician coverage on 7a–7p and 7p–7a shifts
• APP support: 8 hours/day in the off-season, 10 hours/day during peak season
• Admission rate: ~15%
• Dedicated senior ER for geriatric patients
• EMR: MEDHOST
• Assignment type: ongoing locum coverage

What you’ll do

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients across the full spectrum of emergency conditions
• Lead and supervise APPs and ED staff during your shifts
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and coordinate admissions or transfers as needed
• Work closely with nursing staff and hospitalists to keep patient flow efficient and care standards high
• Document patient encounters accurately in MEDHOST

What we’re looking for

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM required)
• Active Florida medical license, or the ability to obtain one before starting
• Current ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications
• Preferably two or more years of recent ED experience
