Job Description
Join a supportive team covering a Level III Trauma hospital in Douglas, WY, where you'll provide a mix of inpatient, outpatient surgery, and labor & delivery anesthesia in a low-to-moderate volume setting. The position offers flexible monthly coverage with a predictable weekday schedule and a pace that lets you focus on safe, high-quality care.
Schedule and logistics
- Coverage: 2 weeks per month
- Days: Monday–Friday
- Typical hours: 7:00 AM–1:00 PM (may vary with case volume)
- Patient volume: about 7–10 cases per day
- No additional call requirements specified
Practice environment
- Hospital-based practice at a Trauma Level III facility
- Case mix includes adult surgical cases, outpatient procedures, and L&D care
- Light pediatric exposure; no surgical patients under age 3 except for L&D/neonatal cases
- Collaborative team with surgeons and clinical staff, supportive atmosphere
Clinical responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia for a variety of surgical procedures (general and local)
- Perform regional nerve blocks and epidurals (required)
- Manage anesthesia for labor & delivery and provide neonatal support as needed
- Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, and coordinate care with the surgical team
Required qualifications
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Active Wyoming license or eligibility via IMLC
- ACLS certification (required for conscious sedation privileges)
- PALS (AHA) required
- Experience with epidurals, regional blocks, and general anesthesia
- Comfortable managing light pediatric and neonatal (L&D) cases
