Location: Brookhaven, MS (also opportunities in Jackson and Meridian, MS)
Summary:
Join a hospitalist OB/GYN team to provide consistent, expert inpatient and delivery care for pregnant patients presenting to the hospital. Work collaboratively with local obstetricians in a hospital-based role focused on patient safety, quality improvement, and exceptional clinical communication.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient OB/GYN care, including labor and delivery management and postpartum care
- Manage obstetric emergencies and stabilize patients as needed
- Coordinate care with local obstetricians, nursing staff, and ancillary services
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and case review
- Maintain accurate documentation and handoffs for continuity of care
Schedule and compensation:
- Full-time hospitalist position; typically 7–9 24-hour shifts per month (about 21 days off monthly)
- No on-call or office-management duties
- Salary: $300,000–$340,000 annually plus full benefits
- Flexible scheduling with potential for bonuses
Required qualifications:
- MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Mississippi medical license or eligibility to obtain one
- Demonstrated ability to manage obstetric emergencies and provide inpatient OB/GYN care
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
- Commitment to clinical excellence and continuous improvement
