Emergency Medicine Physician – Independent Contractor (North Augusta/Aiken, SC)

Join a collaborative team of 16 emergency physicians and 9 advanced practice providers delivering high-quality emergency care in North Augusta, SC. Our group mixes recent graduates and seasoned clinicians, creating a supportive environment where teamwork, mentorship, and professional growth are prioritized.

What you’ll do

• Provide emergency care at a 273-bed community hospital with a 30-bed ED, designated as a chest pain and stroke center. The hospital sees about 43,000 ED visits per year with 39 hours of physician coverage and 30 hours of APP coverage daily.
• Work shifts at The ER at Sweetwater, a 10-bed freestanding ED in North Augusta, GA, which handles roughly 23,000 visits annually and is staffed 24 hours a day by physicians (12 hours by APPs).
• Participate in hospital committees (credentials, sepsis, peer review, medical executive) and build strong relationships with specialists and supportive administration.
• Take part in teaching opportunities with APP students and internal/family medicine residents.
• Manage all aspects of community emergency medicine while collaborating closely with colleagues and consultants.

Schedule and compensation

• Flexible schedule as an independent contractor.
• Pay: $300/hour for day shifts, $325/hour for nights.
• $75,000 sign-on bonus available for full-time shift commitment (minimum 120 hours/month).
• Expect a collaborative, community-focused practice with autonomy and professional support.

Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Full-time independent contractor commitment (minimum 120 hours per month).
