Locum Tenens Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician — Midlothian, VA

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician for locum tenens coverage in Midlothian, Virginia. The role supports a high-volume MFM practice focused on complex, high-risk pregnancies and includes both clinic and inpatient responsibilities.

Schedule and call

• Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:15 PM
• Weekday call: nightly coverage
• Weekend call: 24-hour coverage (weekend coverage required)
• On-call responsibilities include both weekdays and weekends

Clinical environment

• Average scheduled patients per day: 27
• Case mix: ~95% high-risk, 5% low-risk
• Nursery: Level III
• EMR: Epic; Viewpoint

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation and longitudinal management of high-risk obstetric patients in clinic and inpatient settings
• Perform consultations and diagnostic procedures for maternal and fetal conditions
• Collaborate with OB/GYN, neonatology, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams
• Participate in urgent and emergent call coverage
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR

Required skills and procedures

• Proficiency in amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS)
• Experience managing cerclage preferred
• Management of high-risk conditions including preeclampsia/hypertension, multiple gestations, fetal growth restriction, chromosomal/genetic abnormalities, preterm labor, thrombophilia, and complex maternal–fetal comorbidities
• Experience with vaginal and cesarean deliveries in high-risk settings

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal-Fetal Medicine
• Completion of an accredited MFM fellowship
• Active Virginia medical license
• BLS certification
• AIUM certification
