Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Atlantis, FL (12-hr Shifts, High-Volume ED)

Join a busy, high-volume emergency department in Atlantis, FL (Palm Beach County) as a locum board-certified/eligible Emergency Medicine physician. You’ll work at a 500+ bed acute care hospital with a 78-bed ED (including a fast track) and a system that handles over 130,000 visits annually when including two associated freestanding ERs.

What to expect

• Annual volume: ~88,000 visits at the main ED; total network >130,000 including freestanding sites.
• Patient flow: 2–3 patients per hour with a mix of high and low acuity.
• Shifts: 12-hour blocks (7a–7p or 7p–7a); day and night options available.
• Coverage & support: Robust staffing with 70+ physician coverage hours daily plus 30 APP hours, full specialist backup, and Meditech EMR.
• Additional sites: Two freestanding ERs (Boynton Beach and Palm Beach Gardens) offer potential extra shifts; both provide 24/7 services with on-site imaging and labs.

Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Active Florida medical license and DEA registration.
• Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications.
