OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician — Hospital-Based Obstetrics Role (San Antonio, TX)

Join a hospital-based obstetrics team in San Antonio, TX as a board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYN hospitalist. This acute-care role provides immediate, in-house OB/GYN expertise for obstetric emergencies without clinic or outpatient responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour in-hospital care for labor and delivery patients
• Manage obstetric emergencies and urgent inpatient gynecologic issues
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary labor & delivery team (nursing, anesthesia, neonatology)
• Document care and participate in quality and safety initiatives
• Support smooth transitions of care with outpatient providers as needed

Schedule

• Hospitalist-only schedule (no clinic, no office management)
• Typically 7–9 scheduled 24-hour shifts per month
• No on-call duties outside scheduled shifts

Compensation & benefits

• Base annual salary: $300,000–$340,000

Required qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency
• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Active Texas medical license or eligibility for licensure
• Current DEA registration
