Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Englewood, FL

A healthcare facility in Englewood, FL is seeking an experienced, adaptable Emergency Medicine physician for a locum tenens assignment. The role requires coverage of day, night, and weekend 12‑hour shifts in a busy, patient-centered Emergency Department.

Practice environment

• ED annual volume: ~20,000 visits
• 24‑hour physician coverage with 12‑hour shifts
• Support services available during surges, sepsis/stroke alerts, and complex cases, including phlebotomy
• Onsite advanced imaging: MRI, CT, X‑ray, and ultrasound

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely, high‑quality emergency care for a broad range of acute presentations
• Evaluate, diagnose, and initiate appropriate treatment plans
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
• Utilize laboratory and imaging results to guide clinical decision‑making
• Document clinical encounters accurately and promptly in accordance with facility protocols

Qualifications

• Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM), or Family Medicine/Internal Medicine with a minimum of two years of recent Emergency Medicine experience
• Active Florida medical license and DEA registration
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to perform efficiently in a fast‑paced ED
• ACLS and PALS certifications highly preferred
