Location: San Diego, CA (fully virtual practice, nationwide patient panel)
Position overview
Provide comprehensive tele-neurology care for patients with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and related cognitive disorders. Conduct virtual evaluations, manage neurodegenerative conditions, supervise advanced practice providers (APPs) across states, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (APPs, behavioral health, care coordination) to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care and ensure clinical and telehealth compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive tele-neurology assessments, diagnosis, and management of cognitive disorders
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, including medication management and treatment monitoring
- Supervise and mentor APPs across multiple states and ensure adherence to clinical protocols
- Coordinate care with behavioral health specialists, care coordinators, and other team members
- Maintain documentation and quality metrics; ensure compliance with telehealth standards and state regulations
- Stay current on emerging treatments (including amyloid-targeting therapies) and integrate evidence-based practices
Compensation and benefits
- Salary: $260,000–$276,000 annually
- Full benefits package
Minimum qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completed accredited Neurology residency
- Board Certified in Neurology
- Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license in at least one state (multi-state licensure or IMLC eligibility preferred)
- Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience managing memory/cognitive disorders
- Demonstrated proficiency with telemedicine platforms and virtual neurological assessments
- Strong clinical skills in cognitive evaluation and dementia management
- Effective verbal and written communication for virtual patient, family, and team interactions
- Commitment to patient-centered, empathetic care
Preferred qualifications
- Fellowship training in Behavioral/Cognitive or Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology
- Prior experience supervising APPs in telehealth or multi-state practice models
- Familiarity with amyloid-targeting therapies and emerging Alzheimer’s treatments
- Experience in integrated, interdisciplinary, or value-based care models
