Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Okeechobee, FL

Join our team as a locum Emergency Medicine physician in Okeechobee, FL, where you’ll deliver high-quality, urgent care across a variety of ED settings with flexibility and autonomy. You’ll evaluate and manage patients with acute illnesses and injuries—performing focused histories and exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, initiating treatment plans, administering medications, and performing minor procedures as needed. You’ll also collaborate with nursing staff, consultants, and hospital teams to ensure safe, efficient patient flow and clear transitions of care.

What you’ll do:

• Triage and stabilize patients presenting with a broad range of emergency conditions
• Perform thorough assessments, order appropriate diagnostics, and interpret results
• Initiate and manage treatment plans, including medication administration and minor procedures
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Document care accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies and quality standards

What we’re looking for:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
• Active Florida medical license
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a team-oriented approach
