We’re seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse for a 15-week contract in Elkins, WV, starting ASAP. This role is a 36-hour/week schedule (07:00 AM–07:00 PM) and offers competitive pay: Travel rate $1,523/36-hours or Local rate $1,174/36-hours.

What we need from you:

  • Valid, active LPN license for the state.
  • Current BLS certification.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician direction — think medication administration, wound care, and regular vital sign checks.
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exams, medical histories, medication reviews) and help develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following facility protocols.
  • Manage wounds and incisions: clean, dress, monitor for infection, and document changes.
  • Monitor and document vital signs consistently and report significant changes promptly.
  • Keep accurate patient records, noting condition changes, treatments given, and medication administration.
  • Teach patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and wellness strategies.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids, ensuring proper IV line care.
  • Provide catheter care, including insertion, maintenance, and complication monitoring.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing when needed.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Assist with patient comfort and safety needs: positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies with appropriate interventions and basic life support when required.
  • Follow strict infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments.
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and needs to help ensure they receive appropriate care.
  • Stay up-to-date with nursing best practices through ongoing education and training.
  • In some settings, provide supervision and guidance to CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
