LPN/LVN (Licensed Practical Nurse) — Long Term Care | Contract/Travel — Elkins, WV

Join a 15-week contract in Elkins, WV as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Start ASAP. Shift: 07:00 AM–07:00 PM. Compensation: Travel: $1,523/36 hrs; Local: $1,174/36 hrs.

Requirements:

• Active, valid LPN state license
• BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring.
• Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Accurately administer medications/treatments and monitor for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
• Perform wound assessment, cleaning, dressing, and monitor for infection or complications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) and document results and clinical changes in patient records.
• Monitor and maintain IV lines and infusion therapy safely.
• Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and basic pain management.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, preventive measures, and follow-up.
• Respond to emergencies using established protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
• Follow strict infection control practices and safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Advocate for patient rights and needs; supervise CNAs/UAPs when applicable.
• Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and complete other duties as assigned by management.
