**Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) in Behavioral Health**
**Location: Rutland, located in scenic Vermont**
• Practice in a comprehensive outpatient psychiatry clinic supporting individuals recovering from mental illness
• Facility is a 144-bed regional hospital serving a broad population across western Vermont and nearby areas of New York
• Collaborative environment with a large multidisciplinary team across 40+ specialty areas

Behavioral Health Services Provided
• Psychiatric evaluations and medication management
• Individual psychotherapy and counseling
• Structured group therapy programs
• Family therapy and support group services
• Relapse prevention programs
• Access to inpatient and outpatient therapeutic services

Core Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including medical and psychosocial history
• Diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide medication management and monitor treatment effectiveness
• Deliver psychotherapy and support behavioral health interventions
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
• Build strong therapeutic relationships with patients and families

Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Nursing or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program (approved by the American Medical Association)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an NP or PA in a relevant specialty

Licensure & Certifications
• NP: Licensed/registered in Vermont and certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (or equivalent)
OR
• PA: Licensed/registered with the Vermont State Board of Medical Practice and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
• Unit-specific certifications as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC)
• Completion of de-escalation and restraint training per departmental guidelines

• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills in behavioral health
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
• Knowledge of group dynamics, human behavior, and quality improvement methods
• Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and use of EMR systems
• Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and care teams
