Locum Tenens General Surgeon — Inpatient Call Coverage (Clinton, NC) with Onsite Housing & Travel Paid

Join a care team in Clinton, NC to provide inpatient general surgery coverage on a locum tenens basis. This is supplemental, call-only coverage covering two week blocks in July: July 10–13 and July 24–27 (overall coverage period July 10–27). You’ll take 24-hour beeper call (7 a.m.–7 a.m.) with a 20-minute response expectation and will be responsible for admissions and resident/teaching supervision.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide “bread-and-butter” general surgery: hernia repairs, cholecystectomies, breast surgery, excision of lumps/bumps, abscess drainage, appendectomies, small bowel and colon surgery.
• Perform endoscopy procedures as needed (EGD and colonoscopy).
• Supervise and teach residents during your coverage.

• Service setting: inpatient
• Call type: beeper, 24-hour shifts
• EMR: Meditech 6.1
• Temporary privileges available
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided
• Hospital-owned individual apartments onsite (clean, furnished, with cable and Wi‑Fi)

Credentials and requirements

• Active North Carolina medical license
• Board Certified in General Surgery
• NC DEA registration
• No recent malpractice cases
• Must be credentialed with NC Medicare & Medicaid
• Must be enrolled in PECOS
