Join a busy gastroenterology service in Richlands, VA to provide short-term locum tenens coverage (ASAP—ongoing). This clinical role supports both inpatient and outpatient care with procedural responsibilities and night beeper call (1:1, 30-minute response, ~5% callback).

Schedule and Coverage

• Coverage period: ASAP – ongoing; specific need May 18–22
• Procedure clinic: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (half day), Friday
• Outpatient clinic: Tuesday and Thursday (half day)
• Call: nights (beeper), 1:1 ratio
• Patient volume: 20–25 per day; phone consults 1–2/day
• Rounding included

Clinical Duties and Procedures

• Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy
• Esophageal dilation and manometry
• Small bowel biopsy
• General inpatient/outpatient consultative care

Support and Systems

• Support staff: 1 APP, 2 RNs, 1 MA, 1 office staff
• EMR: Athena and Meditech
• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided

Requirements

• Active Virginia medical license
• Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology
