Job Description
Locum tenens opportunity at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND, supporting cardiothoracic surgery in both clinic and hospital settings. Full-time clinical coverage with call, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, ASAP through end of July 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Provide inpatient rounding and post-operative cardiothoracic surgical care.
- Manage pre- and post-surgical clinic patients (10–14/day) in collaboration with CT surgeons.
- Ensure continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Perform basic CT surgery support procedures within scope.
- Document all encounters in Epic EMR and collaborate closely with surgeons, RNs/LPNs, and multidisciplinary teams.
Team and facility
- Primary worksite: Altru Hospital (clinic & hospital).
- Team: 2 cardiothoracic surgeons and 2 APPs (one currently on leave).
- Support: RN and LPN clinic staff.
- EMR: Epic.
Requirements
- NP or PA with a minimum of 1 year of cardiothoracic surgery experience (CT surgery experience required).
- Active North Dakota license preferred; required NP/PA certifications current.
- Hospital privileges required; credentialing timeline TBD.
