Locum tenens opportunity in Flagstaff, AZ covering Trauma Surgery for an adult patient population at a Level I trauma center (269 beds). This hospital-based role provides clinical coverage and in-house call, with night shifts from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and an initial assignment of June 8–18, 2026 (potential to extend with additional shifts). Coverage includes rounding, admissions, and management of a caseload averaging 10–15 patients per day, including Trauma ICU and general trauma cases; phone consult volume to be determined.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient trauma coverage and critical care support for critically ill trauma patients
• Collaborate closely with trauma surgeons (dual-boarded in critical care) and the inpatient trauma team
• Perform procedural interventions and assist with surgical care as needed
• Ensure timely, accurate documentation and coordinated patient management

Facility and support:

• Level I trauma center, EMR: Cerner
• Standard trauma and surgical equipment available
• Specialty backup from trauma surgeons and dedicated inpatient trauma team

Requirements and credentials:

• Active Arizona license required
• Board-certified NP or PA with a minimum of 2 years’ trauma or acute care experience; acute care APP experience required
• DEA registration required
• ATLS certification required
• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges may be available (credentialing ~30 days)

Compensation and logistics:

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided

• Surgical assist duties

Shift details:

• Clinical: Nights (5p–7a)
