Inpatient Forensic Psychiatrist — 6Month Contract, St. Louis (MondayFriday, Full-Time)

Adelphi is looking for an experienced inpatient psychiatrist to join a forensic rehabilitation team in St. Louis, Missouri. You’ll work onsite in a long-term, inpatient setting caring for adults with serious mental illness, focusing on stabilization, continuity of care, and safe, effective treatment within applicable regulatory standards.

What you’ll do

• Provide direct psychiatric care including intake evaluations, ongoing assessments, and development of individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver longitudinal care aimed at patient stabilization and smooth transitions of care.
• Prescribe and manage medications according to clinical guidelines.
• Perform regular face-to-face evaluations and monitor patients’ progress.
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation (admission notes, progress notes, discharge summaries).
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in required orientation, training, and comply with facility and agency policies.
• Fulfill duties consistent with those expected of permanent physicians and take on additional tasks as assigned.

Who we’re looking for

• Licensed physician in the State of Missouri with an active, unrestricted MO medical license and no sanctions.
• Active DEA registration and Missouri BNDD registration.
• Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry preferred.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatry required; experience with forensic or long-term psychiatric populations is a plus.
• Ability to complete all credentialing, background screening, security clearances, and in-state fingerprinting prior to start.
• Required pre-employment items: negative TB test within one year, government-issued photo ID, and at least one professional reference.
• All certifications must remain active for the duration of the assignment.
