Locum Tenens OB/GYN NP/PA — Full-Time Inpatient/Outpatient with Surgical & Delivery Duties, Colorado Springs (Call 1:5)

We’re looking for OB/GYN NPs and PAs to join a Level I trauma hospital in Colorado Springs for locum tenens supplemental coverage starting May 1 with ongoing opportunities. You’ll work both inpatient and outpatient shifts at a 413-bed facility that has 11 exam rooms and solid onsite resources.

Schedule & Call

• Prefer full-time coverage: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
• Call expectations: 1 in 5 daytime; 1 in 10 overnight and weekends.

What a Typical Week Looks Like

• Outpatient volume is about 20 patients per day.
• Average deliveries per physician run around 3 per week.
• Expect roughly 8 outpatient GYN surgeries weekly.
• Case mix: ~70% low-risk pregnancy, 10% high-risk pregnancy, 30% C-sections, 10% office GYN, 10% surgical GYN.

Clinical Responsibilities & Procedures

• Manage low-risk pregnancies and common pre-existing pregnancy problems (history of twins, preeclampsia/toxemia, pyelonephritis, hyperemesis, etc.).
• Interpret fetal heart monitoring: NST, CST, and FSE.
• Perform Level I/screening ultrasounds for viability assessments.
• Manage routine deliveries (vaginal, low forceps) and make decisions about C-sections.
• Handle complicated deliveries including C-sections, breech, multiple births, and abruptions.
• Manage VBACs and repair 3rd/4th degree perineal lacerations.

Facility Resources & Team

• Onsite lab and ultrasound (tech-performed).
• Office equipment includes colonoscopy, LEEP, ultrasound, and neonatal support.
• Support staff: 2 RNs, 1 LPN, 6 MAs, 3 PAs, and 1 surgery scheduler.
• Physician and mid-level coverage: 5 OBGYN physicians and 2 mid-levels already in practice.

Requirements

• Active Colorado license or willingness to obtain one.
• Board certified.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP required.
• Prior OB/GYN experience required.
• NPDB report must be pulled within 30 days prior to start.
