Position: Cardiac Anesthesiology (Locum Tenens)
Service Setting: Inpatient
Coverage: Supplemental clinical coverage + call
Start: ASAP – Ongoing
Schedule
- Regular shifts: Mon–Fri, 8–10 hour shifts
- Call: Nights and weekends; beeper call
- Callback expectation: Weekdays 2–3 hours; Weekends 1–2 hours
Patient Population & Volume
- Adult and geriatric patients
- Annual cardiac case volume: 360–450 cases/year
Clinical Scope & Case Mix
- Primary: Open heart, thoracic, vascular, structural heart cases
- May cover general cases as needed
- Specialty backup available: TEE, Cardiology, Neuro IR, MRI lines, OB, Bronch
- Occasional supervision of CRNAs may be required
Facility
- 187 beds
- 15 ORs (including 3 endoscopy suites and 2 EP labs)
- Level I trauma center
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active Nebraska medical license or participation in IMLC
- Board Certified (BC) in Anesthesiology
- Cardiac Anesthesiology fellowship completed
- TEE certification
- COVID vaccination
