Locums Trauma Surgery APP (NP/PA) — Level I Trauma Hospitalist, $125/hr, Robbinsdale MN

Join a Level I Adult Trauma Center (also caring for pediatric patients) in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, as a Locums APP. This role is a great fit for clinicians who thrive in high-acuity trauma settings and are comfortable working independently as trauma hospitalist rounders with broad clinical responsibility.

Compensation: $125 per hour

Schedule & coverage

• 10-hour shifts (7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
• No call — in-house coverage only

What you’ll do

• Serve primarily as a trauma hospitalist rounder, managing patients across the floor and ICU.
• Respond to ED trauma alerts and provide intermittent ED consults and procedures.
• Perform daily rounding, manage ER admissions, and coordinate safe, timely discharges.
• Collaborate closely with trauma surgeons, ICU teams, nursing, and ancillary services.
• Document care in Epic and participate in guideline-driven care and required non-clinical tracking.
• Opportunity to take on trauma critical care responsibilities if you have the appropriate experience.
• Note: There is no separate hospitalist service — the APP must be able to manage patient care independently.

Typical patient volume

• Non-ICU: 10–14 admitted patients to round on daily
• ICU: About 6 patients
• Admissions/ED volume: 2–15 patients per 24 hours

Preferred procedures (not all required, but strongly preferred)

• Non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP) and mechanical ventilation management
• Chest tube insertion
• Central venous and arterial line placement
• Suturing minor lacerations

Requirements

• Board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active Minnesota license
• ACLS, PALS, and ATLS required
