Requirements

• Active RN license in Colorado
• BSN required; MSN preferred
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Prior medical-surgical clinical experience required
• Leadership or management experience preferred
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the medical-surgical unit, ensuring compliance with standards and policies
• Maintain and improve patient safety, quality of care, and unit performance metrics
• Manage staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee relations
• Monitor and optimize patient flow, throughput, and unit efficiency
• Lead quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Act as the clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff; support onboarding and ongoing education
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Manage unit budget, supply needs, and resource utilization to support cost-effective operations
• Promote staff retention through coaching, development, and positive workplace culture
