Locum Tenens Remote Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for a fully remote locum tenens opportunity. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and young adults in a collaborative virtual care environment. Ideal candidates will have strong experience in pediatric and adolescent psychiatry and value flexibility, autonomy, and meaningful patient impact.

 

This is a 1099 contract role designed for clinicians who are comfortable practicing independently while contributing to a supportive, mission-driven team.

 

Schedule Requirements:

 

• Minimum commitment of 10 hours per week
• Availability during peak demand hours:
• After 3:00 PM ET on weekdays, and/or
• Flexible availability on weekends

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments via telehealth
• Diagnose and treat mental health conditions in pediatric and young adult populations (ages 2+)
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Provide patient and family education as appropriate
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure continuity of care

 

Requirements:

 

• Master’s Degree from an accredited nursing program
• Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
• Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania PMHNP/CRNP/APN license
• DEA license and prescriptive authority required
• Minimum 2 years of independent psychiatric experience under licensure
• Demonstrated experience working with pediatric populations (ages 2+)
• Strong proficiency with telehealth platforms, EHR systems, and digital tools
• Reliable computer, phone, and high-speed internet connection

 

Compensation & Benefits:

 

• Compensation: $120/hour (1099)
