LPN/LVN - Licensed Practical Nurse (Long Term Care) — Contract, Silver City NM

Contract, non-travel Licensed Practical Nurse position in Silver City, NM. Start ASAP for a 13-week assignment. Schedule: Sun, Fri, Sat, 06:00 AM–06:30 PM. Local rate: $1,040 per 36 hours.

Required credentials:

• Active LPN state license
• BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and basic treatments.
• Conduct focused patient assessments (vital signs, physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Monitor and document patient condition, treatments, medications, and responses accurately and timely in medical records.
• Perform wound management: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) and coordinate with laboratory services.
• Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management; promote preventive care and health education for patients and families.
• Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocols.
• Follow infection control practices and safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care; may supervise CNAs/UAPs as assigned.
• Maintain professional development and comply with regulations and facility policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
