Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) Long Term Care, Contract (Marlinton, WV)

Contract LPN opportunity in Marlinton, WV — 9-week assignment starting ASAP. Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM. Local rate: $722 per 24-hour shift.

Requirements:

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license.
• BLS certification.

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician oversight, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and vital sign monitoring.
• Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exam, medication review, history) and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer and monitor prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring accurate dosing and adherence to protocols.
• Perform wound management, catheter care, and collection of specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
• Continuously monitor, document, and report changes in patient condition, treatments, and vital signs.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care; promote preventive health measures.
• Maintain infection control standards and safe handling/storage/disposal of medications and supplies.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team and, when applicable, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and perform other duties as assigned by management.
