TeamHealth is seeking a board-certified emergency medicine physician to serve as medical director at the Saint Vincent Hospital emergency department in Worcester, MA.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced emergency medicine leader to provide clinical, operational, and strategic oversight of the department. This role offers a balanced mix of hands-on clinical care and administrative leadership, with the opportunity to partner closely with hospital leadership to drive quality outcomes, operational efficiency, and patient experience initiatives.
The 38-bed ED manages approximately 52,000 annual visits and operates within a collaborative, physician-led environment supported by strong clinical and administrative infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for emergency physicians and advanced practice clinicians
- Oversee clinical performance, quality metrics, and patient experience initiatives
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to optimize ED operations and integration with hospital services
- Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and patient safety
- Mentor and develop clinical staff while fostering a culture of excellence and compassion
- Board certified in EM (ABEM or AOBEM)
- 3 to 5 years of clinical leadership experience preferred
- Demonstrated success in performance improvement and team leadership
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
- 2 patients per hour
- 38 ED beds
- 268 hospital beds
- 48 hours of physician coverage
- 40 hours of APC coverage
- EMR is Cerner
