Join a locum tenens team in Waupun, WI providing comprehensive primary care within a correctional setting. This full-time assignment begins ASAP for 26 weeks, scheduled 07:00 AM–03:30 PM, with compensation of $80/hour.
Required qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN license and Nurse Practitioner certification with prescriptive authority
- Current DEA registration and BLS certification
- Knowledge of advanced nursing theory, pharmacology, diagnostics, and correctional healthcare best practices
- Ability to work independently, manage a broad spectrum of clinical presentations, and respond effectively to emergencies
Key responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations, assess health status, and establish medical diagnoses
- Prescribe and monitor medications; order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
- Deliver preventive care and manage acute and chronic illnesses for persons in custody
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff training, and patient education efforts
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support reentry planning and evidence-based care programs
