- Call schedule: 24-hour beeper call (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.)
- Call coverage: ER trauma call
- Patient volume: ~5 per shift
Clinical Duties / Procedures
- Open heart, thoracic, and vascular surgery
- Coronary bypass grafting
- Valve replacement
- Ventricular aneurysm repair
- Adult congenital and traumatic cardiovascular surgery
Support & Environment
- Department beds: 12
- Support staff: 1 MA, 3 office staff
- EMR: Cerner (hospital), Athena (practice)
- Temporary privileges available
Logistics & Coverage
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided
Requirements
- Active California medical license
- Board certified (BC) in Cardiothoracic/Cardiovascular Surgery
- BLS and ACLS
- Case logs for the last 3 years
