We're looking for a board-certified nephrologist to provide locum tenens coverage in Henderson, NC (27536) from June 8–13, 2026. This is call-only coverage (beeper), 1:1 call ratio with a 25-minute response time. The assignment is supplemental coverage; travel, lodging, and malpractice are covered by the agency.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide nephrology coverage for both outpatient and inpatient needs while the primary provider is away.
- Round, accept admissions, and handle phone consults as needed.
- Manage dialysis patients (hemodialysis, CRRT, peritoneal dialysis).
- Care for post-renal transplant patients.
- Perform procedures including renal biopsy, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis catheter placement.
Patient and clinical volume
- Average daily patient volume: ~8 patients/day
- Admissions: ~4 during the coverage period
- Phone consults: ~7
- Rounding responsibilities: both inpatient and outpatient

Requirements
- Board certification in Nephrology (BC)
- NC medical license
- Fellowship in Nephrology required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
